The Get Up and Move Challenge, previously known as the N.E.A.T. Chair Challenge, is a four week program designed to increase the amount of physical activity that employees perform during working and nonworking hours. Taking time each day to do the exercises and other “get up & move” activities will help with refocusing and clearing the mind, reduce stress levels, enhance blood flow and caloric burning, and provide a multitude of other physiological, social, emotional and intellectual benefits!
Would you like to start a new workout routine but you are unsure of where to begin? NEW U has partnered with the UC Fitness Center to create two 30-minute fitness programs to encourage you to either begin or try a new and improved fitness circuit. These program handouts can be found at the front desk for you to use at any time. Ask the front desk attendant if you are in need of assistance.
Congratulations Walking Challenge Teams! We had 22 teams participate in the challenge and the combined mileage of all teams was 18,778 miles in 6 weeks! Walking Challenge Participants: Please remember that if you would like to keep challenging yourself to walk to California, continue tracking your steps on WalkingWorks.com. The first team to make it to California will receive a summer treat!
